The white rose is the heart of Alpha Psi’s identity. Representing purity, strength, and new beginnings, it reflects the ideals our founders embraced when they established the sorority on November 30th, 1988. Each white rose on our crest honors one of the ten colleges at UC Santa Cruz, symbolizing the unity and diversity of our sisterhood.

Beyond its beauty, the white rose reminds our members to lead with integrity, cultivate meaningful connections, and strive for personal and academic excellence. Just as the rose blooms with care and attention, Alpha Psi encourages every sister to grow, thrive, and shine within our supportive community.

Mission

Founded on November 30th, 1988 by five dedicated women, Alpha Psi was built on the belief that every woman should strive to achieve her fullest potential during college. Guided by our ideals of academic excellence, social development, intellectual thought, and personal achievement, we foster a supportive environment where sisters are encouraged to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact. At Alpha Psi, leadership, community, and personal growth are at the heart of everything we do.

Mascot

Our mascot, the snow leopard, embodies the qualities that define Alpha Psi: intuition, determination, and balance. Rare and graceful, the snow leopard reflects the uniqueness and strength of each sister in our sorority.

Just as the snow leopard navigates its environment with focus and poise, Alpha Psi encourages its members to pursue their goals with confidence, support one another, and lead with purpose. This powerful animal serves as a reminder that strength and elegance can coexist—and that each sister has the ability to make a lasting impact within our community.

Wellness & Support

Alpha Psi cares about more than just grades—we care about your whole well-being. As a close-knit sorority, we make sure every sister feels supported academically, mentally, and physically.

We have dedicated chairs for mind and body wellness, organize weekly library study sessions, and host mental health check-ins to make sure everyone feels heard and supported. Beyond academics, we offer fun wellness events like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness activities to help sisters recharge and stay balanced.

Alpha Psi believes that taking care of yourself is just as important as celebrating your achievements—and we do it together.
